LET’S TALK ABOUT CAPS

November 12, 2012

Let’s talk about custom caps. Head wear provides a very unique canvas for conveying one’s message. It also provides a very high perceived value. When thinking of head wear, the first thing that comes to mind are baseball caps. This American classic is not only popular on the baseball diamond but is a staple in our everyday culture. It provides one to convey his personal allegiance to not only his favorite team, but also his or her favorite whatever. With custom caps, the possibilities are endless, ranging from five panel to six panel, structured or unstructured, and high-profile to low-profile. The perfect cap is relative to the individual. If you were to ask 10 different so-called experts what the perfect hat is, you will most likely get 10 different answers. It is all relevant to one’s taste. Beauty certainly is in the eye of the beholder. The discriminating hat expert will take into consideration things like how well does it breath? What are the moisture drawing properties? Is there a sweat absorbing head band? Does it allow for flexible movement? This is all part of what the discriminating consumer is looking for along with the ability to acquire it at a good price point. Nowadays, embroidery is the decorating vehicle of choice. There is no substitute for good old fashioned custom embroidery. It lends itself to conveying a first-class impression that custom screen printing just cannot convey. Embroidery machines have come leaps and bounds over what they were 10 years ago. A modern machine will enable the operator to actually sew an image 360° around the entire outer perimeter while only hooping it one time.
