Two Important Components of a Successful Business

It’s great to be able to cater to the Indianapolis T-shirt printing market share. Because of technology, we now have advantages like never before in the history of mankind. I can remember back in the day when nobody owned a cell phone. I’ve been self-employed my whole adult life and have done a lot of different things. Experience has taught me that every different type of business is unique unto itself, but they all share some common denominators. I believe that you can be the best there is at whatever it is you do, but if you can’t sell it, then you are going to probably go out of business. Therefore, marketing and sales are not the same thing, but they go hand-in-hand and I feel that they are the most important part of trying to build an Indianapolis screen printing company.

It wasn’t long ago when people preferred to shop in their own local neighborhood. These days it seems that more and more folks would rather sit at their kitchen table in the comfort of their own home and put in a relevant search term on a major search engine like Indianapolis embroidery company or digital T-shirt printing. They are liable to end up using a website that is actually located 500 miles away that offers free shipping. Digital images can travel across the planet with the speed of light and we are able to create a virtual example of their art work faster than if they were to get in their car and drive a half a mile down the street to a local business. We also take advantage of e-commerce. It wasn’t very long ago that people were intimidated to use their credit card over the Internet. Companies like PayPal have changed that and won over the consumer’s confidence in order to assure them that it’s safe and they are not going to be taken advantage of.

When it comes to marketing ourselves, we are well aware of the fact that you can have a really flashy and good looking website but the content of your site is not nearly as important as the ability for people to be able to find it. For example, they will put in a search term such as Indianapolis screen printing company and that will take them to a landing page with about 10 or 12 other sites and they will end up clicking on two or three of them. If you’re not on the very first page, you’re probably not going to get a chance at a quote request. People’s attention spans are very short. They want instant gratification and want to be able to identify who they want to work with within three or four minutes of doing their research. I tend to equate it with fishing. You fish the exact same way for a minnow as you do a whale and use the exact same bait. You simply throw it out there every day and wait till something comes along and takes it. You never know what you’re going to get.
